You are invited to the next meeting of the Herefordshire Conservative Business Forum at the Harewood End Inn, when our speaker will be John Handby.
John is a Chartered Fellow of the British Computer Society, Liveryman of the City of London and the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists, and a Fellow of the RSA.
His career began in Whitehall working on policy issues in the Departments of Health, Environment, Transport and the Treasury; before he entered the world of IT and ended up directing various large scale change based programmes within the public sector. He then went on to occupy a series of top level IT Director/Chief Information Officer positions at GlaxoSmithkline, Merial, National Power (now Innogy) and Royal Mail.
John was the founding Chief Executive of CIO Connect, established as a conference and networking organisation for CIOs in the UK bringing together the latest thinking on technology issues. Over the years he has worked as IT advisor to the Boards of major corporations and as a consultant in the IT sector reviewing company strategic directions, marketing campaigns and sales approaches, and mentoring and coaching senior executives. He has also served on the Boards of a number of high tech startup companies.
He retains his interest in technology issues and in particular the emerging field of artificial intelligence.
