Breakfast followed by talk and questions.
You are invited to the next meeting of the Herefordshire Conservative Business Forum at the Harewood End Inn, when our speaker will be Jesse Norman MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Department for Transport. Please note there are limited spaces for this meeting.
Jesse Norman has been MP for Hereford and South Herefordshire since 2010. He was educated at Oxford University and University College London. He was Parliamentarian and Backbencher of the Year in 2012, was elected as Chair of the Culture, Media and Sport Committee by fellow MPs in 2015, and appointed to the Government as Energy Minister (2016) and then Roads Minister (2017).
In Herefordshire, he has campaigned on a host of issues including fast broadband, better funding for local schools and hospitals, and an eastern link road around Hereford. His campaign against the Private Finance Initiative saved the NHS nationally some £1.5bn, and Hereford Hospital £5m directly as well. He and his team handle some 800 cases a year on behalf of his constituents.
Jesse first called for a university in Herefordshire in 2009, and has been closely connected with that project since inception, bringing the project leadership team together and helping to secure some £23m in support from Government so far.
Jesse has also written recent biographies of Edmund Burke (2013) and Adam Smith (2018). He is married with three children and is a very enthusiastic but sadly incompetent jazz trumpeter.
Herefordshire CBF welcomes everyone in business or interested in business and of any political persuasion or of none
