Round table discussion at 10 Downing Street
As your CPF co-ordinator, it was my great privilege to be invited to attend the round table discussion at 10 Downing street on the 28th February. The invitation came as a direct result of the consultation papers we submitted on Digital and lifelong learning and on Disability and inclusion. It was a very interesting and stimulating discussion and resulted in several really good ideas being put forward in both areas, given the two subjects do cross over in several ways. CPF representatives came from all over the country including Cornwall, Norfolk and other far flung parts including of course Herefordshire!
The section on Disability was chaired by Jean Andre Prager, the DWP Advisor to no.10 and the Lifelong learning and Digital section was chaired by James Kent, Deputy Director of the Policy Unit. We were also joined by James Marshall, Director of the Policy unit and of course John Hayward and Flick Drummond Director Volunteer Director of the CPF.
The ideas suggested were too varied and detailed to report fully here but there will be a full report from the policy unit in time with their recommendations on which ones will be carried forward.
I would like to thank all those members of the Hereford and South Herefordshire CPF group for all their great ideas which contributed to the papers we submitted.
