Breakfast followed by talk and questions.
You are invited to the next meeting of the Herefordshire Conservative Business Forum at The Harewood End Inn on the A49 at Harewood End, HR2 8JT, when our speaker will be Abigail Appleton, the Principal of Hereford College of Arts.
Abigail became Principal and Chief Executive of Hereford College of Arts, one of a small network of independent specialist arts colleges across the UK, at the end of 2015.
She moved to Hereford after a long career with the BBC in London and Manchester. As a production trainee in BBC Radio, through many years of producing and commissioning across different media, to her last role as Creative Director of BBC Learning, she was deeply engaged with the BBC’s mission to educate as well as inform and entertain and proud to have played a leading role in projects like Ten Pieces, a major music campaign for schools and the development of BBC micro:bit to inspire young people to get hands on with digital creativity.
She believes passionately that specialist arts education is more important than ever in supporting individual self-expression, shared culture and the UK’s creative economy. She is ambitious to create more links between creative education and business.
Abigail moved to the county with her family and loves exploring Herefordshire’s spectacular countryside with them on foot or bicycle.
Herefordshire CBF welcomes everyone in business or interested in business and of any political persuasion or of none.
